If you need a Pro Tracking Lead, then you need workhorse equipment. The kind of equipment that you can use all day thru the muck, rain, briers and thorns; then wad it up, cram it still wet and nasty in your bag, take it out tomorrow, and know without a doubt you can do it again. Though some professionals have experimented with other materials like nylon or PVC coated nylon/"pleather"... they find leather works the best. It won't get too slippery when wet (try grabbing the PVC coated material in the pouring down rain!), it won't break down over time like nylon (think of rock climbers ropes, and how they must be kept free of grit for danger of it working into the fibers and "cutting" the rope from the inside), and it won't burn your hand if dragged thru quickly while wet (ever had nylon burn?). The 15ft long, 3/4in wide lead ends in a "D" ring, making it easy to attach our Last Second Lead as a handle. The Pro-Paw Tracking Lead is available in Black and Chestnut.
